Please read the following terms of service, as it is your responsibility to read and understand our services.

When you pay for any of our services (or by accepting a granted or gifted service), you agree to these terms:

1. Introduction & Scope

These Terms of Service apply to all services provided by Your Maths Tutor Group (referred to throughout these terms as “we”, “us” and “our”), including the following brands and brand names:

  • Veronika Skye Maths
  • Your Maths Tutor
  • Matherati
  • Maths Club
  • Home Educate Maths

and all associated courses, tuition services, memberships, resources and educational products.

By booking, paying for, subscribing to, or accepting access to any of our services (including gifted or granted access), you agree to these Terms of Service.

Our services are designed as ongoing educational support subscriptions focused on long-term mathematical progress, confidence and independent learning. Tuition is therefore provided as a continuous support service rather than as isolated pay-per-lesson sessions.

Depending on the service chosen, your subscription or enrolment may include:

  • live lessons,
  • access to educational resources and recordings,
  • structured independent practice,
  • support between sessions,
  • and ongoing guidance throughout the school year.

The exact structure, pricing and level of support depend on the specific programme or tuition arrangement chosen. Further details are provided in the relevant sections below and, where applicable, in your course information or starter pack.

2. Overview of Services

We offer ongoing maths support through subscription-based tuition and learning services designed to support steady long-term progress, confidence and independent learning.

Students may join at any point during the school year, subject to availability. Subscriptions renew monthly unless cancelled in line with the cancellation terms below.

Standard Small-Group Tuition

ÂŁ90 per month per student

Small-group tuition is usually taught in groups of 2–4 students working at a similar level and pace.

This subscription typically includes:

  • approximately 3 live lessons per month on average across the school year,
  • access to lesson recordings where applicable,
  • access to educational resources and practice materials,
  • support between sessions,
  • and ongoing structured guidance throughout the year.

Single-Student “Double-Seat” Groups

ÂŁ180 per month

In some situations, a group may temporarily or long-term consist of only one ongoing student. In practice, this provides highly personalised support similar to 1-to-1 tuition while still remaining part of the group structure.

This arrangement allows students to continue their progress without the group needing to close while also leaving open the possibility for additional students to join later.

Further details about when the double-seat rate applies are explained in the Group Formation & Double-Seat Rules section below.

Individual 1-to-1 Tuition

ÂŁ300 per month

1-to-1 tuition is a premium, limited-capacity service offering fully individual support and scheduling priority.

Due to limited availability, families interested in highly personalised support may sometimes be offered the option to begin in a new or developing small group instead.

Trial Access

Short trial access periods may be offered for new students joining a course or group.

Trial arrangements may include partial-month access to live sessions, recordings, resources and between-session support so students can experience how the programme works before continuing with a full subscription.

Resource & Support Access

Some services may include or offer separate access to educational resources, independent practice materials, recordings, or support between live teaching periods.

This may include optional summer support or continuity access between academic years. Details and pricing for any such services will be communicated separately where applicable.

3. Subscription Model & What’s Included

Our tuition services operate on a subscription basis designed to support continuous progress throughout the school year rather than isolated lesson-by-lesson teaching.

The subscription model allows students to:

  • join at any point during the year,
  • receive ongoing support between live lessons,
  • maintain continuity in their learning,
  • access structured resources and recordings where applicable,
  • and ask questions as they arise rather than waiting only for the next live session.

The aim of this structure is to encourage consistent engagement, independent practice and long-term confidence in maths.

What a Subscription Includes

Depending on the service chosen, a subscription may include:

  • live online lessons,
  • access to lesson recordings (where applicable),
  • access to educational resources and independent practice materials,
  • homework guidance and worked examples,
  • support between sessions via email or messages,
  • personalised preparation materials for tests or assessments where reasonably possible,
  • and ongoing guidance throughout the academic year.

The exact structure and level of support may vary depending on:

  • the type of course,
  • whether tuition is group-based or 1-to-1,
  • the student’s level and needs,
  • and the time of year.

Live Lesson Frequency

Core tuition programmes typically run across the academic year from approximately September to June.

Most group and ongoing tuition subscriptions include, on average, three live lessons per month across the school year. Some individual months may contain slightly more or fewer live lessons depending on:

  • the calendar layout,
  • school holidays,
  • implementation weeks,
  • and planned breaks within the teaching schedule.

This variation is a normal part of the yearly course structure and does not change the monthly subscription price.

The subscription is designed to provide balanced long-term support across the year rather than charging separately for each individual lesson.

Between-Session Support

Students are encouraged to ask questions and seek clarification between lessons where needed.

Reasonable between-session support may include:

  • answering short questions,
  • clarifying homework,
  • recommending practice,
  • preparing additional examples,
  • or helping students prioritise topics before a school assessment.

Support between sessions is intended to help students stay engaged and proactive in their learning. Response times may vary depending on workload, teaching schedule and holidays.

Recordings & Alternative Lesson Delivery

If a student cannot attend a live lesson, access to a recording may be provided where recordings are available for that service.

If a tutor is unable to run a live lesson as planned, an alternative form of teaching support may be provided. This may include:

  • recorded problem-solving,
  • written worked solutions,
  • replacement teaching materials,
  • or rearranged support where appropriate.

The aim is always to maintain continuity of learning and minimise disruption to students’ progress.

Summer & Non-Live Teaching Periods

During some periods of the year, including parts of the summer, regular live lessons may pause while support resources and between-session guidance continue.

Optional continuity support or resource-access subscriptions may also be offered during non-live teaching periods. These may include access to resources, independent practice materials and tutor support via email or messages.

Where applicable, details and pricing for these services will be communicated separately.

4. Pricing Structure

Our services are offered on a monthly subscription basis. This means you are paying for ongoing access to structured tuition, support and learning resources throughout the subscription period, rather than paying per individual lesson.

Standard Small-Group Tuition

ÂŁ90 per month per student

This applies to small groups of typically 2–4 students learning at a similar level.

The subscription includes ongoing access to:

  • live group lessons (typically around 3 per month on average across the school year),
  • lesson recordings where applicable,
  • structured resources and independent practice materials,
  • support between sessions,
  • and ongoing academic guidance throughout the subscription period.

Single-Student “Double-Seat” Groups

ÂŁ180 per month

Where a group temporarily or long-term consists of a single student, the subscription continues as a “double-seat” arrangement.

This provides a level of support closer to individual tuition while maintaining the group structure and allowing the possibility of additional students joining later.

Further details on when this rate applies are outlined in the Group Formation & Double-Seat Rules section.

Individual 1-to-1 Tuition

ÂŁ300 per month

1-to-1 tuition is a premium, limited-capacity service offering fully individualised teaching and support.

Availability is limited and may not always be offered. Where appropriate, students may be offered a place in a small group instead of 1-to-1 tuition.

Trial Access

Half the monthly price for 14-day access

A short trial period may be offered for new students before committing to a full subscription.

The trial includes:

  • access to live lessons taking place during the 14-day period (typically up to two sessions depending on timing),
  • access to resources and practice materials,
  • and reasonable support between sessions (such as short questions, clarification and guidance between lessons, but not unlimited on-demand tutoring support)

To ensure proper preparation and onboarding, trial bookings should normally be made at least 2 days before the intended first live lesson. In some cases, guidance may be given on the most suitable start date to ensure the student benefits fully from the available sessions.

After the 14-day trial period, the subscription will automatically continue into a full monthly subscription unless cancelled. No additional action is required to continue.

Cancellation is simple and can be done at any time before or during the trial or ongoing subscription, either by the client or by requesting cancellation directly.

Summer Continuity Support (Optional)

ÂŁ20 per month

During July and August, when regular live teaching is paused, optional summer continuity support may be available.

This is an optional subscription and is separate from term-time live tuition.

Summer continuity support may include:

  • access to educational resources and practice materials,
  • email or message-based support,
  • and guidance to help students maintain progress over the summer period.

This service is designed to support students between academic years and is not required to maintain their place in regular term-time groups or courses.

Payment Method

Payments are taken monthly via card payment.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled in line with the cancellation terms set out in this agreement.

5. Group Structure, Group Formation & Double-Seat Pricing

Small-group tuition is designed to run with approximately 2–4 students per group. Group placement is decided at the tutor’s discretion based on factors such as age, qualification level, timetable compatibility, current mathematical ability, learning pace and overall group dynamics.

From time to time, students may join, leave, pause or change groups. As a result, the number of active students in a group may change during the academic year.

In many tutoring services, groups that fall under a certain number of students are simply closed altogether.

Our approach is designed to give families the option of maintaining continuity and keeping their existing lesson time, structure and learning momentum even where a group temporarily or long-term reduces to one ongoing student.

Single-Student Groups (“Double-Seat” Groups)

Where possible, we aim to place additional suitable students into developing groups before any pricing adjustment becomes necessary. In practice, most groups remain standard shared groups throughout the academic year, and any pricing changes relating to group size are relatively uncommon.

However, if a student becomes the only ongoing paying student in a group, that student will in practice receive the full teaching time and attention of the group session. In this situation, the group may move to the “double-seat” rate of £180 per month.

The intention of this arrangement is to avoid unnecessary disruption to students who are progressing well and would prefer to continue rather than having the group close.

Families are never required to continue under a double-seat arrangement and may instead choose to cancel in line with the normal cancellation terms if they do not wish to continue at the revised rate.

The double-seat rate is a reduced equivalent of extended individual support. For comparison, the standard full 1-to-1 tuition rate is ÂŁ300 per month.

The tutor will always give at least three weeks’ written notice before any change from the standard group rate (£90 per month) to the double-seat rate (£180 per month) takes effect.

The increased rate will apply from the student’s first billing date falling at least three weeks after the written notice was issued.

Example: if notice is issued on 11 January and the student’s billing date is the 9th of each month, the double-seat rate would begin from 9 February.

New Groups and Open Groups

At the start of a new academic year, or when opening a brand-new group, a group may initially begin with only one enrolled student while additional suitable students are being matched into the group.

In these situations, the group may either:

  • begin immediately at the double-seat rate of ÂŁ180 per month, or
  • temporarily begin at the standard group rate of ÂŁ90 per month with the possibility of later moving to the double-seat rate if the group continues long-term with only one ongoing student.

The intended arrangement will always be communicated clearly before booking.

Students Joining or Leaving a Group

If additional students join a group before an announced double-seat increase takes effect, the tutor may cancel or postpone the planned increase.

If a student is already paying the double-seat rate and another student joins the group and remains actively enrolled and paying, the monthly fee will normally return to the standard group rate of ÂŁ90 per month from the next billing date following the first full shared billing period.

The tutor reserves the right to make reasonable decisions regarding group balancing, restructuring and student placement in order to maintain an effective and sustainable learning environment.

Repeated Single-Student Periods

Occasionally, groups may repeatedly move between shared and single-student status as students trial lessons, join or leave during the school year.

Where a group has repeatedly remained effectively as a single-student group, and the tutor has already issued two consecutive notices regarding a possible move to the double-seat rate, the tutor reserves the right to apply the double-seat rate for at least one full billing period even if another student joins shortly before the increase would otherwise take effect.

This rule exists to prevent repeated short-term changes that would otherwise create unstable pricing and administrative difficulties.

Fair Pricing Principle

The pricing structure is intended to balance fairness, continuity and sustainability for both the tutor and clients.

When a student is the only ongoing student in a group, they receive substantially more individual teaching attention than within a standard shared group arrangement. The double-seat rate reflects this increased level of support while still remaining lower than the full 1-to-1 tuition rate.

Likewise, where groups return to a shared structure with multiple ongoing paying students, pricing will normally return to the standard group rate from the appropriate future billing period.

6. Subscription Renewals, Cancellations, Recordings, Payments & Service Continuity

All tuition services are provided on a rolling subscription basis and remain active until cancelled by the client in accordance with these Terms.

Subscription Renewals and Billing

Subscriptions renew automatically on the student’s regular billing date unless cancelled in line with the notice terms below.

The billing date is normally the calendar date on which the subscription originally started. Payments are collected automatically using the agreed payment method.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that payment details remain valid and up to date.

Cancellation By the Client

Clients may cancel their subscription at any time by giving at least 14 days’ notice before the next billing date. Where shorter notice is given, a small pro-rata charge may apply to cover the remainder of the notice period.

If less than 14 days’ notice is given before the next billing date, the tutor reserves the right to charge a one-off pro-rata payment covering the remaining notice period beyond that billing date.

For the purposes of calculating pro-rata notice payments, the daily rate is calculated as the student’s regular monthly fee divided by 30.

Example: for a ÂŁ90 per month subscription, the daily rate is treated as ÂŁ3 per day. If cancellation is requested 10 days before the next billing date, an additional 4 days may be charged to complete the 14-day notice period.

Following cancellation, access to live lessons, recordings, resources and support continues until the end of the fully paid access period.

The tutor may, at their discretion, occasionally agree to partial refunds where cancellation is requested significantly earlier than the next billing date. Such refunds are not guaranteed and remain entirely discretionary.

No Pauses or Skipped Months

Because group places and schedules are reserved on an ongoing basis, subscriptions normally continue without pauses or temporary freezes. Where exceptional circumstances arise, families are welcome to discuss the situation with us.

If a client wishes to stop tuition temporarily, the subscription must still be cancelled in accordance with the notice terms above. Cancellation may result in the student losing their current group placement, lesson slot and resource access.

If the student later wishes to return, a suitable place may be offered only if availability exists at that time.

Academic Year and Summer Period

The main live teaching period typically runs from September to June.

Regular live tuition does not run during July and August. Families will normally be reminded before any summer continuity subscriptions or ongoing billing arrangements begin. Clients are responsible for managing and cancelling their subscriptions if they do not wish payments to continue into inactive, summer periods.

During July and August, live lessons are inactive. An optional summer retainer service at ÂŁ20 per month can be chosen by the client to maintain continuity of out-of-lessons support and resource access. This does not affect any priority placement for the following academic year.

Where a client unintentionally remains subscribed during a non-live summer period, the tutor may correct or refund such payments where appropriate. However, due to administrative workload, holidays or high seasonal volume, refunds may take time to process and no specific processing timeframe is guaranteed.

Recordings, Missed Sessions and Continuity of Support

Where a student cannot attend a scheduled session, recordings or alternative educational support may be provided in accordance with the Lesson Delivery and Attendance sections of these Terms.

Failed or Overdue Payments

If an automatic payment attempt fails, the payment provider may automatically retry the payment.

If payment remains unsuccessful after the retry attempt, the client must make payment manually following the instructions provided by the tutor.

The tutor reserves the right to suspend live lessons, recordings, resource access and all related services immediately until outstanding payments are cleared in full.

Repeated failed payments, persistent late payments or ongoing payment issues may result in the tutor cancelling the student’s subscription or withdrawing future tuition availability.

Tutor Termination Rights

The tutor reserves the right to suspend or terminate services, with or without notice where reasonably necessary, including but not limited to situations involving:

  • safeguarding concerns,
  • abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour,
  • repeated disruption to lessons,
  • repeated breaches of policies or course expectations,
  • serious communication issues,
  • or ongoing payment problems.

This includes breaches of any separate behaviour, safeguarding or community guidelines provided alongside the services.

Where appropriate, any refund following tutor-initiated termination will remain at the tutor’s reasonable discretion.

Exceptional End-of-Year Access Arrangements

From time to time, the tutor may offer optional short extension arrangements near the end of the academic year to help align subscription access with final June lessons and billing cycles.

Such arrangements are entirely discretionary, may not always be available, and may be subject to separate pricing and conditions.

7. Trial Access & Joining Mid-Month

Students may join courses mid-month or at other points during the academic year, subject to availability and suitable group placement.

To support flexible onboarding, an initial 14-day trial access period may be offered at 50% of the regular monthly subscription price for the relevant service type.

Typical trial prices are:

  • Standard small-group tuition: ÂŁ45
  • Double-seat group tuition: ÂŁ90
  • Individual 1-to-1 tuition: ÂŁ150

The exact number of live sessions included during the trial period may vary depending on the point within the teaching cycle at which the student joins. Trial access may include one or two live sessions together with resource access and relevant support during that period.

Because lesson structures follow a rolling academic schedule, clients may sometimes be advised that starting closer to a new live teaching week would provide a smoother onboarding experience. However, students may generally join at any point where suitable availability exists.

To allow sufficient preparation, onboarding and safeguarding arrangements, clients are normally expected to complete payment and confirm their place at least two days before the first planned live lesson. Where booking is completed later than this, access to the next upcoming live lesson cannot be guaranteed.

At the end of the 14-day trial period, the subscription automatically continues onto the regular monthly rolling subscription unless cancelled by the client in accordance with these Terms.

During the initial 14-day trial period, the standard 14-day cancellation notice requirement does not apply. Clients may cancel at any point during the trial period without being charged beyond the trial access already paid for.

Clients remain responsible for managing or cancelling their subscription if they do not wish tuition to continue beyond the trial period. Cancellation may be requested directly through the tutor or through any available self-service subscription management system where applicable.

The tutor reserves the right to refuse, delay or rearrange onboarding where necessary to ensure suitable group placement, safeguarding, timetable compatibility or educational suitability.

8. Lesson Delivery & Scheduling

Tuition is delivered through a structured rolling academic schedule designed to balance live teaching, independent practice, implementation time and long-term progress.

Live Lesson Frequency

Most ongoing tuition arrangements include, on average, three live lessons per month across the academic year.

Due to calendar structure, implementation weeks, public holidays and seasonal scheduling variations, some months may contain slightly more or fewer live sessions than others. Overall course structure and pricing are designed around the academic year as a whole rather than identical lesson counts every calendar month.

Implementation Weeks and Independent Learning

Implementation weeks form part of the overall learning structure and are intentionally built into the teaching model.

These periods are designed to support:

  • independent practice,
  • consolidation of recently taught topics,
  • homework completion,
  • revision,
  • self-assessment,
  • and application of skills learned during live sessions.

Students may continue receiving access to resources, recordings, support materials or limited between-session guidance during these periods where applicable.

Lesson Recordings and Alternative Delivery

Where a live session cannot be attended by a student, the standard alternative format is access to a recording or equivalent guided learning support prepared during the originally scheduled lesson period.

Alternative support may include:

  • recorded explanations,
  • worked solutions,
  • guided examples,
  • written notes,
  • structured revision tasks,
  • or other educational materials chosen by the tutor.

The exact format may vary depending on:

  • the type of tuition,
  • the student’s learning plan,
  • available preparation time,
  • and the information provided by the student or parent in advance.

Student Absences and Communication

Students and parents are expected to communicate absences or support requests in reasonable time before the scheduled lesson wherever possible.

Where specific topics, school work or revision areas are requested for recordings or alternative support, these should normally be communicated before the original lesson takes place.

If no guidance is provided, the tutor may prepare support materials based on the student’s learning plan, recent assessment progress or what the tutor reasonably considers educationally appropriate.

Rearranged Sessions

For standard group tuition and double-seat group tuition, rearranged live sessions are generally not available.

This is necessary to maintain continuity of scheduling, group structure and future student placement availability.

For true 1-to-1 tuition only, rearranged sessions may occasionally be offered where:

  • sufficient notice is given,
  • scheduling reasonably allows,
  • and both the tutor and client can agree on a suitable alternative time.

Rearrangements remain entirely discretionary and are not guaranteed.

Tutor Absence, Illness or Technical Issues

If the tutor cannot deliver a live session as planned due to illness, emergency, technical problems or other exceptional circumstances, one or more of the following may be offered depending on the situation:

  • a rearranged session,
  • a recording,
  • alternative guided learning materials,
  • additional support resources,
  • or another reasonable educational alternative.

The tutor will aim to communicate any significant disruption as soon as reasonably possible.

School Holidays and Academic Calendar

The teaching schedule does not necessarily follow standard school holiday calendars.

Some school holiday periods may contain live lessons, while others may form part of implementation weeks or scheduled breaks within the course structure.

July and August are treated separately from the main academic teaching year. During July and August, live lessons are inactive for all services.

Clients are responsible for reviewing lesson schedules, updates and calendar information provided throughout the year.

9. Communication & Between-Session Support

Tuition subscriptions include reasonable between-session educational support intended to help students maintain continuity, confidence and progress between live lessons.

Students and parents may communicate with the tutor using the approved communication channels made available for the course, which may include email, messaging platforms or other agreed systems.

Educational Support Between Lessons

Between-session support may include, where appropriate:

  • answering reasonable maths-related questions,
  • clarification of lesson content,
  • guidance on homework or independent practice,
  • help identifying suitable revision priorities,
  • support preparing for school tests or assessments,
  • recommendations for additional practice,
  • and directing students toward relevant resources or recordings.

The exact level and type of support may vary depending on:

  • the student’s course type,
  • workload and scheduling,
  • the timing of requests,
  • and the information provided by the student or parent.

Proactive Communication and Student Responsibility

Students are encouraged to ask questions proactively and communicate when they are struggling with a topic, homework task or revision area.

For the best educational outcomes, students should wherever possible:

  • attempt work independently before asking for help,
  • provide screenshots, examples or clear explanations of difficulties,
  • and communicate test dates or revision needs in reasonable time before assessments.

The tutor may be unable to provide extensive last-minute support where insufficient notice or information is given.

Support Boundaries

Between-session support is intended to complement the structured tuition programme and not to operate as unlimited on-demand tutoring.

The tutor reserves the right to place reasonable limits on:

  • the volume of support requests,
  • the level of detail provided outside lessons,
  • the turnaround time for responses,
  • and the amount of additional custom material prepared between sessions.

Response Times

While the tutor aims to respond to messages and support requests as reasonably promptly as possible, immediate responses cannot be guaranteed.

Response times may vary depending on:

  • teaching workload,
  • weekends and holidays,
  • illness,
  • family commitments,
  • travel,
  • or periods of high demand such as exam seasons.

Students and parents are encouraged to plan ahead wherever reasonably possible rather than relying on urgent last-minute requests.

Homework, Marking and Independent Practice

Homework, revision tasks and additional practice materials may be provided as part of the learning process where appropriate.

Unless otherwise stated, students are generally expected to:

  • complete independent practice honestly,
  • self-check work where answers are provided,
  • and bring questions or difficulties into lessons or support conversations.

Detailed marking of extensive independent work outside scheduled lessons is not guaranteed unless specifically agreed as part of the service structure.

10. 1-to-1 Tuition Terms

Individual 1-to-1 tuition is a premium, limited-capacity service designed for students who require a highly personalised level of support, flexibility and lesson planning.

Due to the level of preparation, individual attention and scheduling commitment involved, availability for 1-to-1 tuition is strictly limited and may not always be available immediately.

Tailored Support and Lesson Structure

1-to-1 tuition may include:

  • individually tailored lesson planning,
  • personalised pacing,
  • targeted intervention for specific weaknesses,
  • customised revision strategies,
  • focused exam preparation,
  • and more flexible adaptation of teaching methods to suit the student’s needs.

The tutor may recommend a different lesson structure, learning plan or pace from that used within group tuition arrangements where this is considered educationally beneficial.

Limited Availability and Waiting Lists

Because 1-to-1 tuition operates at a significantly higher level of tutor time commitment, the tutor reserves the right to:

  • limit the number of active 1-to-1 students,
  • operate waiting lists,
  • prioritise existing students,
  • or temporarily pause acceptance of new 1-to-1 students.

Alternative Recommendations

Where appropriate, the tutor may recommend:

  • joining an existing small group,
  • opening a new double-seat group arrangement,
  • or following another structured tuition pathway instead of immediate 1-to-1 tuition.

Such recommendations may be based on:

  • educational suitability,
  • timetable availability,
  • long-term sustainability,
  • group compatibility,
  • or the tutor’s professional judgement regarding the student’s likely progress and support needs.

Rearranged Sessions

Unlike group and double-seat tuition, true 1-to-1 tuition may occasionally allow rearranged live sessions where:

  • reasonable notice is given,
  • both parties can agree on a suitable alternative,
  • and scheduling availability reasonably permits.

However, rearrangements are not guaranteed and remain entirely at the tutor’s discretion.

Where rearrangement is not possible, the tutor may instead provide recordings, guided support materials or alternative educational support in line with the general lesson delivery terms.

Upgrading or Changing Service Type

Students may move between group tuition, double-seat tuition and 1-to-1 tuition where suitable availability exists and both parties agree to the change.

Changes of tuition type may result in:

  • different pricing,
  • different scheduling structures,
  • revised support arrangements,
  • or updated onboarding and billing terms.

The tutor reserves the right to decline changes where suitable availability or educational suitability does not exist.

11. Attendance, Cancellations & Rearrangements

Students are expected to attend scheduled live lessons punctually and prepared to participate appropriately.

Because tuition operates through structured rolling schedules, lesson times and group continuity are important to the overall learning experience for all students.

Student Lateness and Missed Lessons

If a student joins a lesson late, the lesson will normally still end at the originally scheduled finish time.

Missed live lessons do not normally entitle the student to:

  • refunds,
  • additional live replacement lessons,
  • or extended teaching time.

Where appropriate, the tutor may instead provide recordings, alternative support materials or guided independent work in line with the lesson delivery terms set out elsewhere in these Terms.

Rearranged Lessons

For standard group tuition and double-seat group tuition, rearranged live sessions are generally not available.

For true 1-to-1 tuition only, rearrangements may occasionally be offered where:

  • reasonable notice is given before the scheduled lesson,
  • scheduling reasonably permits,
  • and both parties can agree on a suitable alternative time.

Rearrangements remain entirely discretionary and are not guaranteed.

Where rearrangement is not possible, recordings or alternative support materials may instead be provided.

Communication Regarding Absences

Students and parents are expected to communicate absences and support requests as early as reasonably possible. Where recordings or alternative support are requested, relevant topics or revision priorities should ideally be communicated before the scheduled lesson.

No-Shows and Late Notice

If a student misses a scheduled live lesson without notice, or provides notice too late for meaningful preparation or rearrangement, the lesson slot may still be treated as delivered for scheduling purposes. Recordings or alternative support may still be provided where appropriate.

Tutor Lateness, Absence or Emergency Changes

Occasionally, lessons may need to be delayed, rearranged, adapted or replaced due to illness, emergencies, technical issues or other exceptional circumstances affecting the tutor.

Where reasonably possible, the tutor will aim to:

  • communicate changes promptly,
  • minimise disruption,
  • and provide a reasonable educational alternative where appropriate.

Such alternatives may include:

  • rearranged sessions,
  • recordings,
  • guided independent work,
  • additional support materials,
  • or adjusted scheduling arrangements.

Minor delays, occasional timetable adjustments or reasonable emergency adaptations do not normally entitle clients to refunds, immediate termination of services, or cancellation without the standard notice period.

12. Safeguarding & Recordings

Safeguarding is taken seriously across all tuition services. Students and parents are expected to engage with lessons, messaging systems and online learning environments appropriately and respectfully at all times.

Online Lesson Environment

Lessons are normally delivered online using approved platforms and systems chosen by the tutor.

Students are expected to:

  • join lessons using an appropriate name or account identity,
  • behave respectfully toward the tutor and other students,
  • avoid disruptive behaviour,
  • and follow any safeguarding or behaviour expectations communicated during the course.

The tutor reserves the right to remove or suspend students from live sessions where reasonably necessary for safeguarding, wellbeing or lesson management purposes.

Lesson Recordings

Live lessons are normally recorded as part of the standard delivery model for educational continuity, revision access and safeguarding purposes.

Students may participate in lessons with cameras and microphones either on or off, depending on what best supports their learning environment and comfort, unless specific participation requirements are communicated for a particular activity or safeguarding reason.

Recordings may be used:

  • to support students who miss sessions,
  • for revision and independent practice,
  • for quality assurance,
  • for safeguarding documentation,
  • or to help maintain continuity of learning.

Recordings are stored for a limited period and are generally available to enrolled students throughout the relevant academic year for revision and continuity purposes.

Clients and students must not:

  • distribute recordings externally,
  • share access links or course materials with non-enrolled individuals,
  • reproduce paid educational content without permission,
  • or record lessons independently without the tutor’s prior consent.

Safeguarding Communication Boundaries

Communication between students and the tutor should remain appropriate, educationally relevant and reasonably connected to the tuition services provided.

Parents remain responsible for appropriate supervision of minors outside live lesson environments and for monitoring the student’s general use of devices, messaging systems and online platforms.

Privacy and Handling of Recordings

Reasonable steps will be taken to store and handle recordings, student information and communication data responsibly.

However, no online platform or digital system can ever be guaranteed completely secure or interruption-free.

By using the services, clients acknowledge the normal risks associated with online learning platforms, internet-based communication and digital educational services.

Safeguarding Concerns and Service Restrictions

The tutor reserves the right to restrict, suspend or terminate access to services where reasonably necessary for:

  • safeguarding concerns,
  • inappropriate conduct,
  • wellbeing concerns,
  • breaches of behaviour expectations,
  • protection of other students,
  • or protection of the tutor’s working environment.

Any such decisions will be made using reasonable professional judgement and may take effect immediately where necessary.

Where required by law or safeguarding obligations, recordings or relevant information may be shared with appropriate authorities, safeguarding bodies or legal representatives.

13. Educational Disclaimer

The tuition services provided are intended to offer educational support, guidance, structured teaching and revision assistance designed to help students improve their mathematical understanding, confidence and exam preparation.

However, educational outcomes can never be guaranteed.

A student’s progress and examination performance depend on many factors outside the tutor’s control, including but not limited to:

  • attendance,
  • independent practice,
  • homework completion,
  • revision habits,
  • effort and motivation,

Results Disclaimer

At Your Maths Tutor Group, including the Matherati brand and Veronika's Maths Club and Power Sessions programs, we are committed to providing high-quality maths education and support to help students improve their understanding and performance. However, it is important to set clear expectations regarding academic results.

No Guaranteed Results
While many students who follow our suggested lesson plans and engage in regular practice see significant improvements—such as better comprehension of maths principles, reduced maths anxiety, and higher exam scores—individual results will vary. Success depends on multiple factors, including the student’s effort, prior knowledge, consistency, and ability to apply the concepts learned. Past performance of other students does not guarantee future success.

Academic Performance Disclaimer
Our learning programs are designed to support students in their academic journey, but we do not guarantee specific grades, exam results, or acceptance into any academic program. The effectiveness of our program depends on the student’s dedication, study habits, and external academic influences.

Personal Responsibility
Our programs provide structured lessons, guidance, and resources to aid learning, but the ultimate responsibility for progress and results lies with the student. Regular practice, active participation, and adherence to our recommendations are essential for achieving the best possible outcomes.

No Liability for Academic Outcomes
We are not responsible for any errors, misunderstandings, or misapplications of the material provided. Additionally, we are not liable for any academic results, exam scores, or admission decisions. Our role is to provide educational support, but the student must take the necessary steps to apply the knowledge effectively.

Consult Educational Professionals
If you require personalised academic advice or have concerns about your learning progress, we recommend consulting a qualified educator or tutor for additional guidance — specialist 1-1 consultations are available for booking. Some of our services include personalised consultations; enquire about details.

Legal Protection Statement
By enrolling in our programs, you acknowledge that we make no guarantees regarding specific academic results. Our materials and support serve as educational tools, and success depends on individual effort and circumstances.
